New approach influenced by analog/digital design process
Focus on the interaction of hardscape, softscape and observer experience. For this study, I was interested in the more angular approach to landscape articulation. What would it be like to experience natural landscape features with such rigid geometry? This is something that isn’t found in soft landscape in the natural environment. This was also a study of integration of hardscape and green landscape – changing of materiality where the geometry breaks and differentiates at the seams, ridges and valleys. This landscape geometry begins develop ideas of building form and articulation. At this point I ask myself: what is my concept of nature? Not quite sure yet, but I’m exploring ideas of natural versus unnatural geometry, it’s expression through architecture and the acknowledgment of manmade landscape using natural materiality.
